In support of England Hockey’s “Golden Thread” here is some research around what kids really want in the sporting activities.
The research was carried out by Dr Amanda Visek a researcher from George Washington University. She is also an active sports coach.
Her research provides significant insight into what makes sport fun for kids – the links and attachment (if you listen to the podcast as well) describe how she gathered the information and then used ‘concept mapping’ techniques to provide a visual reference as to the key elements of fun for children.
