U10 Girls 19-02-10
Philosophy
4 groups of 8-9 girls rotating through various activities
- Fast – as game change every 20-25 mins
- Learning is reinforced as repetitive
- SIMPLE as easy to move them to the next “stand”
- Lots of play
- Should get more done as not explaining things AGAIN
Aim is to build on this style each week and add 1 or 2 different activities so we consolidate “learnings”
Warmup (10 mins)
- Something Fun
- Stuck on the loo
- Hockball
Games
Circle game – 4v4 or 5v5
- Centre circle with 4 players outside
- Pass ball across circle either direct or via my players
- 1 pass = 3 pts
- 2 pass = 2 pts
- 3 pass = 1 pt
2v1 + Keeper – 3 flights (9 people) if less then adjust flights
Training points (attackers)
- Move off the ball
- Draw/Eliminate defender
- Dummy
- Single touch
- NO Contact (roll out)
Training points (defenders)
- Delay (Jab tackles)
- Channelling
- Aggression
- Block tackle (If appropriate)
- KEEPER to assess when how they move
2v1 Racks – 3 racks (9 people or do 1v1 etc)
3 thin boxes – 1 coach per box (Toby, Gus, Charlie)

- Left foot pass
- NO Contact (roll out) – square or left foot pass

4v4 Zoned game (4 zones) + JOKER if spare person
- 1/8th pitch divided into 4 boxes 1 person per box – attacker, left mid, right mid, defender
- HAVE to stay in box when defending
- When attacking can share box (max of 2 per box) encourage 2 on ones

- Positional play
- Width & Height
- Ran to draw & Left foot pass
- NO Contact (roll out) – square or left foot pass
Training points (defenders)
- Hunt in pairs
- Channelling
- Aggression
- Choose your tackle time
Closing FUN game (15-20 mins )
- Normal rules game
