Player Principles
“Principles” are a means by which you/we develop a common methodology.
Principles describe how we play, how we treat every encounter, they are “WHAT WE DO” regardless of the situation.
Below are some personal principles of mine – they describe the way you manage every interaction with the game with or without the ball.
We also have game cycle principles here

---
First touch, next action
Use your first touch to direct the ball to assist your next move
Stick to stick/space
Easy, accurate passes to your teams sticks (or where their stick is going to be)
Receive in motion
Receive on the run forcing defenders to react, make decisions and adjust to "your tune"
See context, anticipate
What is my next job, where should I go next - Scanning & planning
Pace
Quick decisions, Quick passes, Quick balls
Face the play
Ensure you face the pitch so you can "see context"
Carry with threat (Left foot!!)
Carry the ball in such a fashion that you can do multiple things - challenging the defender
Communicate
Where am I going, where do I need help
Risk & Reward
What reward is commensurate with the risk you are taking?
