eg, without understanding how to ‘receive the ball’ they can’t make the right contact to pass it effectively
Set realistic expectations of the players you are working with – try these thoughts as a starting point:

Understand the Game: | What is our understanding of the... • Technical Components? • Principles of Play? • Moments in the Game? |
Coach Questions: | • What can the players currently do? • What can't the players do yet? • What do they know? • What can you realistically work on with them? • Do you set achievable goals? • How can you help fill their gaps in learning? |
